Therapy in English, wherever you are
Clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. Online across time zones, or at your home if you live near Ervy-le-Châtel, in the Aube.

I see adults, teenagers and children, for psychological consultations, short-term therapy or longer psychotherapy.
Mental health seems to me every bit as serious a matter as physical health. Psychology is one of the ways people come to live a full life, on terms they recognise as their own.
Getting in touch with a psychologist is a first step, and it takes some nerve. What follows is a kind of change: looking squarely at what you think and what you feel, about the people around you, about the decisions you've made, and above all about yourself.
My job is to make that possible, by listening closely and without judgement. I don't apply one method to everybody. I adjust the way I work to what each person brings into the room.
I work Monday to Friday, by appointment. If you'd like, we can talk by phone or email before any first session, to see whether the way I work is what you're after.
Three ways of working together
Online sessions
Adults and couples, from anywhere. You get a link, you open it in your browser. Nothing to install, no account to make.
How online sessions workLiving abroad
I have worked with people living far from home since 2018, in English and in French, at whatever hour their time zone calls for.
If you live abroadHome visits
I come to you, within about twenty minutes of Ervy-le-Châtel. Adults, teenagers and children, in English or in French.
Home visitsWhat I hope to make possible
That you can be free in the room. Say what you want, think what you want, feel what you want, without being judged for it. Not every part of life allows that.
From there: seeing your own situation clearly, and finding what works for you rather than what works in general. Getting out of the loops we shut ourselves into. Living a life you chose.
Making the first move
You don't have to know what to say. You don't have to have worked anything out beforehand — most people haven't, and that's usually the point.
Call or write, whichever feels easier. I'll tell you how I work, you'll tell me what you're after, and we'll see whether it fits. Nothing in that conversation, or in a first session, obliges you to carry on.
Why I do this work
Of all the disciplines, psychology is the one that comes closest to what a person actually is. People are complicated and no two are alike, and that has held my attention for as long as I can remember.
Once you know who you are, you can use what you have, and become — or go back to being — yourself.
Bérengère Cottel
“A human encounter is something you live, not something you read about.”
Fees
You pay after the session, by bank transfer — or, at your home, in cash or by cheque. Home visits, cancellations and insurance.
Getting in touch
Whether you've decided or you're still turning it over, a call or a message is enough.
